## About Redactly

Redactly is an AI-powered PII (Personally Identifiable Information) detection and redaction platform. It automatically identifies and removes sensitive data from text documents, JSON files, and CSV files using a fine-tuned transformer model (LiquidAI LFM2.5-Encoder-350M-PII-Detector). No model training, custom rules, or configuration is required.

Redactly is used by teams in healthcare, finance, legal, and technology to meet data privacy regulations including GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, and SOC 2.

## Product features

### Instant PII detection
Redactly detects over 30 PII entity types out of the box:
- Personal identifiers: full names, usernames, dates of birth
- Contact info: email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses
- Financial: credit card numbers, IBANs, bank account numbers
- Government IDs: Social Security Numbers, passport numbers, driver's license numbers
- Digital: IP addresses, MAC addresses, URLs containing personal data
- Medical: medical record numbers, health plan numbers

### Redaction styles
- Replace: swap the entity with its label, e.g. [NAME], [EMAIL], [PHONE]
- Mask: overwrite with █ characters matching the original length
- Remove: delete the entity entirely from the output

### REST API
Single-endpoint integration. Send text or a file, receive redacted output immediately.

Endpoint: POST /v1/redact/file
Accepts: multipart/form-data with fields: file (.json or .csv), style, threshold
Returns: redacted file as attachment download

- JSON: recursively redacts all string values at any nesting depth
- CSV: redacts every cell independently, preserves structure
- PDF: extract and redact text content (coming soon)
- Plain text: direct string redaction
